Fire Station Visit
Since our focus has been how our community helps us, LS2 went down to the Panmure Fire Station to learn about how they keep us safe. We meet Norm, Bob, and other firefighters. We got to see these firefighters train and many more. We learnt how they help people get out of cars and taught us how to keep safe around fires. They are also first responders and they help those who have heart attacks and more. This was a very enjoyable visit and we learnt how to keep safe and how they help our community.

PBS Values
Today I was put into a group with Tiava, Sylis, Te Wai, Dallas, Joshua, Oh Hsen, Ofa, Jeremaiah and Mathaias. With this collaborative activity we had to write an explanation, what our C.A.R.E values mean? and what might that look like in LS2. We posed to each of the C.A.R.E values and wrote our own meaning what they mean. CARE values are important because it will help us strive to achieve our goals. It was also fun collaborating with other people.

Today LS2 played a learning math game called Quiz.iz. This is an educational where anyone can play/participate. We we recalling our 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 times tables and had to beat 20 seconds. We had a race against everyone and for the first game I came 14th. We then had a game against Mrs Anderson. We tried our hardest to beat her but she came 4. Quiz.iz really helped me improve and it was really fun.

Panmure Library - Stig Weymess's Visit
Last week LS2, LS1 and Rm5, went to the Panmure Library. We had Stig Wemyess, a voice artist came to the library. He narrates Andy Griffiths books. He told us about a app called borrow box and that allows digital book borrowing. Stig Wemyess hocked us in with his humor and gave prizes to the people who were up on stage and in front of the students. He told us about his website called www.stig.com.au. This website tells us about his life and facts. It was a really fun day listening to Stig Wemyess because he is really funny and is a great narrator.

Cross Country Training
In the past few weeks we had cross country training. We went training with LS1. Each week we ran more laps, and became better. We also went running in year groups, we had to run on the outsides of our school and we tried to keep our pace. When we started cross country we first had to warm - up. This was really tiring for me and probably for everyone else and we do want to get better.

Run, Jump, Throw
This week we had Run, Jump, Throw. We were learning about long jumps. Andi gave us tips of how to jump longer and higher without falling. One of those tips were to swing you arms. After a bit of practicing we then got into groups of 4. I was with Sajiha, Zeba, Mia and Nazella. We had to see who could jump longer. Out of all 4 of us Mia jumped longer. After the people who won had a jump off. Zahn came first. We really had fun and I can't wait to do it next time.

Run, Jump, Throw
Today for kiwi sport we had run, jump and throw. Today was our second week of run, jump, throw. For our warm up played octopus to get us started. We then talked about the things we learned last week. We had to have our eyes focused ahead of up so we can concentrate. After we went outside to practice our running. We also had to have light feet so we can run faster. We learnt about the basic skills for running. The skills were to bend our elbows, high knees, cheek to cheek and fast pase. The differents between long distant relays and hurdle relays are that hurdle relays says on your marks - set - go ( gun ). Long distant relays says on your mark and then the gun shoot or a clap. The position for long distant relays is that you have to stay 1 meter behind the starting line. After you use the opposite arm to your leg that you are starting with and remember to look straight ahead.

Leadership
On Thursday Lynne Le Gros visited Panmure Bridge School to talk to the year 7s and year 8s. She talked about leadership because it was leadership week. We first started by writing who our role models are and why they are our rold model. After we wrote our dream and what New Zealand's dream was. After that we got goody bags from the spark foundation. A huge thank you to spark for donating gift bags to LS2.
