This is my Magic Box version of Kin Nisbett's original Magic Box poem. We created a powerful words to create a picture in the reader's mind and to hook the audience in. I used verbs and powerful adjectives. We all made our own version using descriptive language and special language features. This is our finishing product and we had a fun time making our poems.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Poetry Recital Reflection
Practice Poetry Recital Evaluation
Were you pleased with how you sounded? Why or why not?I was pleased how I sounded because most of my words were understood.
What helped you learn your poem?I learned my poem at home by memorizing it.
Did you look at your audience?I looked at my audience when i was reading my poem.
Did you speak clearly?I spoke clearly so the audience can understand.
Did you use an expressive voice?I used an expressive voice to my audience.
What are your next steps? My next step is to have a loud clear voice.

My Acrostic River Poem
My Acrostic River Poem
Rocky cliffs surrounds me
Insects live close to me
Very helpful to people
Exerts its power on people
Rough currents after a big storm
