Today, Rachel came to Panmure Bridge School to talk to the seniors about the Winter Learning journey. This term's theme for the Winter Learning Journey is home in New Zealand. We get prizes for coming 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Legend Of The 7 Sisters

Gold CARE Attitude Award - SWIS
For my gold attitude CARE award, I had to find out what SWIS ( Social Workers In Schools ) means. SWIS is a school based community social work service. Social workers are able to help kids, families and schools with educational outcomes and to protect.
Cyber Smart - Email Etiquette
This week for cyber smart. We were working on email etiquette. This was my email to Mia and I asked her what she enjoyed most this week at school. I had to address the person, stick to the point, use correct spelling and punctuation, use correct grammar and, sign off with my name.
Explaining Movie
This week for reading, Fifita, Mia, Nazella and I made an explaining movie about landfills in New Zealand. This movie explained how long rubbish takes to biodegrade. This was very interesting because I learnt many new facts. We should be careful of what we throw in landfills because we will end up with large unwanted polluted landfills in New Zealand. I really enjoyed making this movie about landfills.

What Plastics Can Be Recycled, And What Can't?
This DLO is based on our inquiry topic, " Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle". I have created a DLO about the plastics that can be recycled and can't. I used my smart searching skills, to search up which plastics could be recycled and which plastics could not. I have also added images with attribution to thank the author.
Reducing Food Waste
This is my poster for our inquiry topic " Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle". I had to make this poster to display how we can reduce food waste and prevent them from going into landfills. One of my ideas were to plan your meals so your food doesn't go to waste.

Samoan Tatau
Since this week is Samoan language week, LS2 had to complete a DLO about the traditional Samoan Tatau, or the Kilikiti. In this task I have added information and also have added images. I have decided to learn about the Tatau.
Worm Farms Explanation
Our focus for writing this week was explanations. Our explanations were about worm farms and what they do. I used the 5 w's and the 3 E's, elaborate, explain or give an example. We read an article based on worm farms and wrote about them.
