Summer Learning Journey - New Language

For this activity I had to imagine I was standing in a airport of a foreign country and to figure out how to communicate with people in a brand new language and write a poem on how I would be

Learning new words are harder than I thought
Went to the store, bought a dictionary
Its hard to pronounce I wish I had a friend with me
I was so confused so I went outside to get some fresh air
And wondered why am I even here?

  1. Hi Zahra! I really liked this poem, and I can really sympathize with you on how you feel. I have always wanted to try writing poetry but I'm not as good as you. Keep up the good work! :)

  2. Hi Zahra,

I see that this poem is really popular amongst Panmure Bridge School students. Is it a poem that you found in a book or one that you wrote yourself? If you borrowed it from someone or somewhere else you have to make sure that you reference that person. You can do this by writing at the end (Poem by: Fill in their name). It's important that we give credit to the original author and include their name in our blogs. Otherwise, it looks like we have written it ourselves.

Can you please pop back onto your blog to tell us if this poem is your own or if you borrowed it from someone else?

    Thanks!
    Rachel

    1. Hi Rachel,

I made up this poem by my self , since I have had this experience once in Malaysia where I was at the airport with my family.

    2. Hi Zahra,

Thanks so much for writing back and for clarifying this for us. We really appreciate it! I hope that you and your family had a lovely time in Malaysia. Did you tour around Kuala Lumpur at all? I have only been to the city once but I really enjoyed it.

      All the best,
      Rachel :)
