For this activity I had to read about a place called Farewell Split. It was in the news where whales accidentally swam into the split and got stuck on the beach where they couldn't return to the ocean because the water was to shallow. The local people tried to save them but most of the whales died. I described what the local people did to try and save them:
1. Pour buckets of water on them.
2. Put wet towels on them.
3. They filled their chilly bins, water bottles, pots with water and poured them over the beached whales.
Hello Zahra, I like how you told why they couldn't return to the ocean. I think it was kind of the local people helping the whales with cloths and towels. Keep up the great work Zahra.

That would have been an awful sight to see. I think its amazing what people did to try and help the stranded whales, its an amazing sense of community spirit. After reading your post I realised I hadn't really ever thought about what it was the local community did to help the whales. Well done for taking part in the Winter Learning Journey and leaving all those comments on other blogs. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your posts :)

ReplyDeleteI'm sure they filled anything and everything that they could to carry water back to the whales! Even though unfortunately some didn't make it, it was great that their hard work enabled some to get back! Do you think you would get involved and help?
