Geometry Coordination

Today during maths we were working on geometry. We were given a piece of paper and had to follow the sequence of ordered pairs and connect them to the corresponding points on the graph above. We used our ladder rule which was across then upwards. Jorja and I worked collaboratively and were able to solve the problem. Once we finished, we then had to color in our animal.  

Mussel Problems

This weeks maths learning was based on fractions and proportions. Mia and I worked collaboratively to find the solutions to the equations. The last problem was very challenging because we had to use our subtraction and multiplication skills. We had to multiply big number which was very hard.

The Fractions Game

Today in maths we were working on fractions. We played a game where we had to choose the fractions smallest from biggest. This game helped us order our fractions. It was timed and it recorded our score so we could see how you were doing. 

Screencastify - Finding Fractions Of An Amount

This is my screencastify solving 60% of 25. We first had to complete a DLO about our maths. We then wrote about what we were going to say while we screencastify. After completing this process, we printed our document and started to record our learning. I tried to show my working in many ways possible. I found 2 different strategy's solving 60% of 25. I explained how I solved this. This is a great way to share our learning with other people so they could learn new things.

Galloping Greyhounds

Our focus in maths was " Galloping Greyhounds ". Mia and I have worked together to complete this maths problem. We used lots of fractions in the payment the greyhounds have received. We solved many questions.  

It Pays To Win!

 

 Our focus in maths was " It Pays To win". Mia and I have worked together to complete this problem and this problem used lots of rounding in the payment of Siones rugby career. We had to solve multiple problems and we had to find the new payment of the next season and compare it with the season before.

Kahoot

In our maths challenge we learnt a new strategy; to see if a number can be divisible by 3. Mia and I have made a kahoot.it based on this strategy. Once we have finished the kahoot.it, we then had to make sure another group played our kahoot.it. We the played their kahoot.it that they made.

Ordering Fractions

Our focus for maths, today was ordering fractions. I have played a game where you had to order the fractions in the right places. You got to pick whether you wanted a harder game or easier game.  

People Power

Our main focus today in maths was percentages. We used a formula for finding % using a calculator. Mia and I worked collaboratively to complete this DLO about people power. 

Pizza Pieces

Today in maths, we had to work out 14 questions on how many pieces make 1 whole. Our main focus was finding fractions and decimals that add up to 1 whole. These are some of the problem solving's of some of the questions.  

Maths - BEDMAS

Today in math our focus was on BEDMAS. BEDMAS helps you solve multiple operations if you start from left to right. This DLO has a short equation that is solved using BEDMAS. 

Problem Solving

In this DLO, I had to choose 1 out of 3 questions to solve. I had to figure our a strategy to this problem. This DLO has a question and problem. 

Pizza and Things - Maths

In this DLO, I had to solve an equation about pizza and things. I had to figure out a strategy to this problem. This DLO has a question, a clue, and a strategy to solve the question. 

Doubling and Halving

This week in maths we were revising our doubling and halving. Our learning intention is to use known and try new strategies to answer maths questions. For this activity we had to halve numbers until it reaches a decimal point. Mia and I worked collaboratively to complete this DLO. 

Adding Fractions

Our focus in maths was adding fractions. The game that I have played is called speedway fractions. You had to add fractions to go further into the course. 

Greatest Common Factor

Today for maths we chose a game to play based on our choice. The game I chose was really fun and it was called greatest common factor, Sketch's World. You have to get 10 correct answers to play a key board game. You have to collect pencils and every keyboard game you play, you go onto a higher level. 

Ordering Fractions and Decimals

 I have played this game and I had to order decimals from lowest to highest. This game helped me recall my fractions and decimals. At first this game challenged me a bit but then it got easier the more I played it. To help you recall your ordering fractions and decimals here is the link to the game. 

Fruit Splat, Greatest Common Factor

Our focus today in maths was common factors. I played a game which was called Fruit Splat, Greatest common factor. This game helps your recall your greatest common factor. A greatest common factor is the greatest number that is a factor of each of two or more numbers (e.g the greatest common factor of 8 and 12 is 4 .) This game was easy, but it did challenge me. 

Place Value Pirates

Our focus today in maths was decimals place values. I played a game which was called place value pirates. This game helps you recall your decimals place value.

Today for maths, our follow up was to play this ordering decimals game. We had to order decimals from least to the greatest. This was a really fun game.
