Magic Box Poem
This is my Magic Box version of Kin Nisbett's original Magic Box poem. We created a powerful words to create a picture in the reader's mind and to hook the audience in. I used verbs and powerful adjectives. We all made our own version using descriptive language and special language features. This is our finishing product and we had a fun time making our poems.
Olympic Silhouette Art
This is my Olympic silhouette art. First we had to find a silhouette of a person doing a sport. Our topic for this was the Olympic games. We then cut out our silhouette and chose our colours (Cold or Hot). I chose the color blue. We then put black PVA glue on. The next day, when the glue dried, we glued our silhouette on. This is our finishing piece and I really like it.
DTR sponsorship - Warriors visit
Today, Ryan Hoffman and John Palavi from the 'Warriors Team' visited our school today. Alice also came and a few weeks ago she sponsored the Warriors tickets. The whole school took part in the trivia game and they earned prices. The people who answered correctly got water bottles or warrior bags. We also learned some lessons about hydration, sleep and belonging. You need to drink water so you can be hydrated, sleep so you can be energetic in the mornings and belonging is where you belong at. They also said something similar to Hauora - Taha tinana, Taha hinegaro, Taha wairua and Taha whanau. Everyone had heaps of fun and enjoyed their time with the Warriors.

Olympic Current Events
This is my current events DLO on Olympics. Abbey D'agostino tripped up and the brave Nikki Hamblin helped her out. We had to write down When it happened, where did it happen, who was it, what happened, why did it happen and how it happened. We also wrote down each persons point of view and what we learnt. I also think that more people should help other people out because they will show sportsmanship. They also showed th Olympic spirit. They are also fantastic role models. After Nikki helpes Abbey out Nikki also sprained her ankle. The race was 5000 meters and they had already reached 3000.

Provocation on Olympic games
This week we were looking at venues from a couple of years ago to these years. We learnt about provocation which is two different opinions, WALT: To consider both sides of a provocation so that we can make an informed opinion. Mrs Anderson asked us to think about the question she asked, Should host nations waste so much money on Olympic venues? To make our informed opinion we had to look at two sides. My DLO shows three different opinions which includes two pictures, the 2004 Athens baseball with the 2016 baseball stadium, there is a big difference. It looks like it has been abandoned.

Run, Jump, Throw
Today for kiwi sport we had run, jump and throw. Today was our second week of run, jump, throw. For our warm up played octopus to get us started. We then talked about the things we learned last week. We had to have our eyes focused ahead of up so we can concentrate. After we went outside to practice our running. We also had to have light feet so we can run faster. We learnt about the basic skills for running. The skills were to bend our elbows, high knees, cheek to cheek and fast pase. The differents between long distant relays and hurdle relays are that hurdle relays says on your marks - set - go ( gun ). Long distant relays says on your mark and then the gun shoot or a clap. The position for long distant relays is that you have to stay 1 meter behind the starting line. After you use the opposite arm to your leg that you are starting with and remember to look straight ahead.
Careers - Yr 7
The Yr7's are learning about careers (jobs). We are focusing on what careers there are. First we had to think from the top of our head careers A-Z, after we did it online. A lot of people came up with a lot of good careers. The next session we will do a random career generator and we will see what job we are most qualified for.
