Maths Strategies


This week in Maths we have revised our skills on strategies to solve  multiplication problems. We had to explain three maths strategies that we have learnt this term. I have picked Place Value,Doubling and Halving and Rounding and Compensating. Since I have learnt these strategies it has made it super easy to work out multiplication problems.

Inference


Today for reading we had to inference riddles. Our task was to quess what the word was by clicking the show a clue box and that gave you hints about the riddle. If we wanted to do another new riddle we had to click the try another riddle box.

Structure and Language Feature Of A Information Report

 
This week for writing Mia and I had to create a DLO of what we learned about structures and language features. We wrote down what all of the structures and language features meant. We also showed some examples of them so other people can start practicing.

Takahe Follow up - Seeing Both Sides Of A Argument


This week for reading the takahe group had to finish off a follow up. Our follow up was seeing both sides of a argument. I listed down why I agreed with the statement and why I disagreed. The statement was about removing wasps from New Zealand because they are annoying and more wasps are appearing.

Today for reading I have completed a current events challenge. What we had to do was find a artical from kiwi kids news and write about it. I had to fill in the title, when it was, who was it, where did it happen, what happened, why or how did is happen, what do you thing the author wanted you to learn about and the picture.

Math Magician


Today for maths I decided that I will play math magician. I have answered all of my 5 times tables and I have completed all 20 questions in 26 seconds. Maybe next time I can complete it in less then 30 seconds. Next week I will probably try my 6 times tables and practice it.  

Doubling and Halving


Today for maths I created a DLO on how to double and halve. Our LI: is how to double and halve in multiplication. We had to double odd numbers and halve even numbers. If you still didn't know how to answer the question you had to do it again. This DLO teaches you how to double and halve so you can get better in answering hard multiplication problems. 

SPaG - Commas DLO


This week for SPaG we learnt about commas. Sajiha, Zeba, Mahdia, Charlize, Nazella and I worked together to complete our DLO. We wrote down the definition of a comma, when to use them and why are they important. We them did a example of a sentence without a comma and them a sentence with a comma.  

China Follow Up

This term for inquiry our topic is our global neighbors. This week we had to complete a follow up. We had to mark the capital city, mark 5 countries that are near China and list seas around China. We then made a virtual tour of China. We had to find pictures of China on google images and find out about them. Something that I learned was that the great wall of China was built so they could protect them selves from the enemies. We also had to find the author of the images we found. What we had to do was go on images, click search tools, labeled for reuse and you can copy the images. When you do that, that means that you are not stealing images.

Shoe Narrative


Today for writing we had to write a shoe narrative. What we had to do was find a buddy, plan how the shoes felt, what they saw, what they heard, what they smelt and what they touched. We had to write one sentence each sitting back by back and writing a story. This was really fun and I really enjoyed it. Out LI: was to use the 5 senses and personification to help us paint a picture with words. Anne Frank - Home Learning



This week for home learning we had to search about Anne Frank. The questions we had to answer were Who am I?, Why am I well known?, What education did I have?, How am I remembered today? and a inspirational quote. For home learning I worked collaboratively with Mia and completed this home learning together. 
Today for reading, we were synthesizing. We watched a video based on Charlotte Anne, we had to also use our 6 colored hats. We had to answer all of the questions then synthezise which means get the information you know and the information that you found out and re-arange the ideas so that you can make an understanding.

Hit The Button - Maths


Today for maths I played hit the button. I have practiced my 5 times tables and you had to press the right answer. I had to answer my 5 times tables and pick the right answer from another bunch of numbers. I scored 14 out of 14 and I got a brilliant perfect score.

Reading Can Do


Today for reading I completed a can do. The can do I have choose was the word cline and the word I did was big. What we had to do was write an uninteresting word on the bottom of the cline and make the words interesting as you go up the cline.

Follow Up - Reading


This week for Reading we had to complete a Follow up. What we had to do was predict what will happen next in the story. The story we predicted on was Walking On The Grass. In Korea there is a law that you could not walk on grass because they was not a lot. When they came to New Zealand they thought the law was the same so they got worried when the footpath walk way was covered with grass.

Math Strategy


This week for math we had to make a DLO that shows you how to solve your 6, 7 and 8 times tables using your 5 times tables. We had to show what we had to do and the steps. Our LI: was to answer 6, 7 and 8 times tables using you 5 times tables.

Kyle Mewburn

 

 In Monday Kyle Mewburn came to visit Panmure Bridge School. Kyle Mewburn talked about his books and many other things. Kyle Mewburn is a New Zealand author that writes children books. He is from Australia but he moved to New Zealand when he finished intermediate. He writes funny and interesting books and one of my favorites is Kiss! Kiss! Yuck! Yuck! 

Language Challenge


Today in inquiry we had to write down what we learnt and what we found out. Mahdia, Nazanin and I worked collaboratively to complete our work. We learnt how to say hello and goobye in Thailand. We also learnt how to wai. 

Afghan Foods VS Thai Foods


This week for inquiry we had to write down the differences between the Afghan foods and Thai foods. The country I was working on was Thailand. We had to search up the drinks, foods and the desserts. We had to compare them to the country and find out the differences.

E-ako Maths


Today for maths we played E-ako maths. E-ako maths teaches you how to skip count, how to add numbers and other things as well. The task that I have completed was about skip counting and the groups. 

Asian Country Poster


This week for inquiry we had to make a poster that has picture's of Thailand. The country that I was learning about was Thailand. We had to put pictures on our poster, have the flag and have the distance. Something that I learned from this task was that Siamese cats are native in Thailand.

This is my google drawing of a virtual tour of Thailand. What we had to do for this task was we had to search up photos from images, click search tools, click usage rights and then click labeled for reuse. These are the photos that I have found an I think it shows the main places in Thailand.

Blue Whale Information Report


For writing today we had to highlight somethings in the paragraph that were on the table. Our LI: was to understand the structure of information reports. The information report was about blue whales. We had to highlight the introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion by changing the background colour of the table. 

E-ako Maths


Today in maths time we did some E-ako maths. This is where I reached up to and I had 59 points. This was the multiplication and division category. This helps you with understanding on maths and what it means. 

Current Events Challenge - Reading


This week for reading we had to do a reading can do. The can do that I choose was the current events challenge. Sub Prefix Spelling


This week we did SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and grammar). What we had to do was we had to make a word web and a paragraph using words that star with sub. Manu, Zahn, Paige and I worked collaboratively together to complete our learning. We had to use sub prefix words which meant below or under. What we had to do, to built our word web was that we found some words that started with sub from the dictionary and that meant under or below ans type it into the boxes. We then had to choose 8 words from the word web and make it into a paragraph. This is what my group came up with.
